Notes on a recent review of circuit-level theories of consciousness — what they agree on, where they diverge, and what the next experiments might look like.

The interesting tension is between theories that locate the substrate in posterior cortex versus those that demand frontoparietal involvement. Most of the disagreement is about what counts as evidence.
